7-Eleven, like many businesses across industries, has not been able to escape the supply chain fallout of COVID-19. Terry Hutchinson, a franchisee who owns multiple 7-Elevens and is vice mayor of Naples, Florida, joined Cheddar to discuss the supply issues and hiring problems that the convenience store chain is experiencing. While the shops are doing their best to restock shelves with goods that are essential to keeping the business running, he said, "most people don't realize we carry north of 3,000 different individual items in our stores, and right now we're seeing hundreds of items that we simply can't get through our traditional, normal supply chain." He noted that "heavy hitter" beverages like Coca-Cola, Pure Leaf Tea, and Red Bull have been especially difficult to order of late.
