Tom McLeod, CEO of Omni, an on-demand storage platform, discusses the company's recent "Rentals" option, which allows you to rent out the items you keep in storage to other users. McLeod has previously said that he wants to change the idea behind "ownership," as people become busier and travel more - they don't want to be held hostage by their own things. Omni allows you to keep your things in storage and then request them as you need them. "Rentals" allows you to make money off of your items in storage while also keeping your rental prices lower. Right now the start-up operates out of its homebase in San Francisco, but it's looking to expand to cities like New York in the coming months.
