On this Cyber Monday, Cheddar gets an inside glimpse into the Amazon fulfillment center in Robbinsville, New Jersey. Pia Arthur, a spokesperson for the online retail giant, describes how the center works during high traffic days such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday! On Thanksgiving, Amazon had 50% more customers shopping on mobile than last year. Arthur credits this to voice assistants such as Alexa and Echo. This is the second year consumers are able to order items with their voice, and Arthur predicts deals on the Echo will encourage consumers to order even more in the future. Also, Amazon has augmented reality features within its app that customers are taking advantage of before they buy a product. Another huge priority for Amazon this holiday season is getting all packages to customers on time. Arthur talks about the robotics system each fulfillment center has now and its ability to make the shipping process more efficient. Plus, Amazon will continue to use its fleet of airplanes to ensure packages are landing on people's front doors in a timely manner.
