Actor Chloe Traicos Talks Season Two of 'The Righteous Gemstones'

2000 back up for one on cheddar news. Get excited. Gemstone fans. The third season of HBO's the Righteous Gemstones is filming as we speak and the series follows a world famous televangelist family with a long history of greed and maybe some charitable work. But the sophomore season followed the gemstone family as they're threatened by people from their past and their present, all in a mission to destroy them. And earlier we sat down with actor Chloe track o sol to discuss her time on the set, Take a look. Chloe is such a pleasure to have you here on Cheddar news. So for those who may not know, you play Gloria Freeman in the amazing show, The Righteous Gemstones. So what was your experience like working with Walton, Goggins and Danny Mcbride on this amazing show. It was wonderful. It was the most amazing experience. They're both super talented people and lovely people who just make you feel at home and you just, you know, it was just the whole thing was just so much fun. I just loved it. So obviously there's been talk of season three, your character shows up in a lot of flashbacks, what's in store for your character maybe in the next season? Can you give us any details? I'm not allowed to talk about season three. I'm really sorry. Um yeah, it's just very um, yeah, I'm not allowed to, I can talk about season two and season one, but yeah, okay, well the series is a hit and has had rave reviews from critics. So what do you think is sort of the secret sauce to the show's popularity. I think it's that, it's a comedy with no boundaries. I think it's a comedy that, you know, it's, it's so funny and there's nothing sacred about it and I think that's what people want to see. I think people need comedy like that. Well Danny Mcbride apparently rewrote the entire second season when he was stuck at home during the pandemic. So how do you sort of think that impacted the future of the show? Do you think it changed the show completely for the better? Um, well, I think so. I mean, I think season two is great. Um, I, you know, I just, um, I, I'm not sure what he initially wrote, but I think what, what he's got there is fantastic. So I think, yes, I think it, whatever he did really worked. So a lot of celebs obviously like to take a lot of photos and things on their social media, but you tend to do things a little differently. You take photos on Reddit and share those behind the scenes photos. What's it like to sort of get these intimate takes from fans and put them on that platform and why did you choose Reddit? Um, it was just weird. I was just um, googling my character's name one day and I found I stumbled on the red side. I never really used read it before and I thought, hey, okay, so I, um, I got involved and started chatting to the people there and um and sharing um, I mean, yeah, I mean there are, there are a few yeah photos that I took with the kids behind the scenes and, but I think most of most of mostly stills from it, but and then I just, you know, also ensuring Things that you know, I encountered on set and yeah, that's just, that's sort of, yeah, I find it to be very, they are very active the people there and communicate and, and so yeah, that's why I have been using it alright, well, switching gears, you're also a filmmaker and also a producer as well and you took to Instagram recently to share how you made a film on a micro budget of just $30,000. So how would you describe the filmmaking process of working under that challenge? I mean that is really difficult. Thank you. Yes, it is very difficult. I mean, I think the main thing is, is um you need a director who knows how to do low budget so that it looks high budget and I had that with john Cohen who directed who is a very dear friend and who um I know whose work I know and love and um but yeah, it is challenging, it's very much, you have to have a team that knows how to adapt and knows how to, to make things work um, so that you can get all your shots in in the required time and that you can also make it look good. Um So it's it is a real skill, low budget filmmaking and not many people, you know um you know are able to handle it. Um So it's kind of you have to take people who are skilled in that area and who who know what they're doing and um you know know how to make it look good. Well I'm curious Chloe the last few years we've seen the metaphors really take over the entertainment world I guess. I'm curious would you ever consider acting or making a film in the metaverse? Oh yeah of course. I mean I consider, you know anything, I love it. Okay, so Chloe with the last bit of time we have left with you, what's next for you, what else you got cooking down the pipeline? Um Sure. Well I mean my there's my pride, I mean my project introducing jodi a which is that the low budget we shot, which is um on all platforms right now um which is a little romantic comedy, which is my my piece closest to my heart. Um And then I also shot a pilot earlier this year for a tv tv show which is kind of um about a bit like gemstones and that the humor is very sort of um nothing is sacred about this time. This one's about religious jews. Um And it's about the jewish single scene in L. A. And um so yeah, it's a kind of dark comedy style and that will um I mean that's in post production at the moment, but we'll be promoting that within the next few months.
