Actor Jana Kramer Gets Into the Holiday Spirit with New Movie

you'll not only recognize our next guest as a singer but also Alex on the popular drama series One Tree Hill, but later this month, you can also catch a Janet Cramer in her upcoming lifetime holiday movie titled Stepping into the Holiday alongside Mario who doesn't love Mario Lopez. So I sat down with the actor and singer to discuss this as well as everything else. She's been up to take a look. So Janet Great to have you here. Thanks so much for joining us the holidays right around the corner and we're really excited because you're starring in a new lifetime holiday movie called Stepping into the holiday Now it has the amazing Mario Lopez in this. So what can you tell us about this movie? Yeah, I mean, well we have a c slater. I mean Mario Lopez. Um He's always a c slater to all of us though, so it's fine forever. And honestly like I, you know, I grew up watching saved by the bell. So the first thing I said to him I was like can I just get out of the way now or like do you want to wait until like the end? Like he's kind of fan girl a little bit but he's so gracious. Like he's such a great guy and we had a great time filming and I will say like it definitely has some dancing, it's got a little you know love in there and it airs the day after thanksgiving. So it's kind of it's a great step into the holidays after watching that movie. Yeah, it's the dimples for me for him that are always like the best part. Why do you think we are so obsessed with holiday movies? Do you think? Because I feel like right after thanksgiving, we just go into full holiday movie mode. Yeah, I think because though somehow, you know, holidays can be sad for some, but I think people just want to feel happy and I think those lifetime hallmark movies, christmas movies, they just make people feel good. And I think at the end of the day there's so much negativity and um bad energy at times. And so I think people like, just really want that good fun um happy, like everything, everything in the end turns out good and I think that's what we can all hope and pray for. Absolutely. We know you have two kids. Do you have any favorite holiday traditions that you do with them? So, I mean obviously I've done like, I'm doing the elf on the shelf thing. Um and then for us, you know, we, um, we're gonna have to change it up this year. I don't have my kids the week leading up to christmas, so I'm gonna have to figure out different traditions this year with them. Um there'll be more post christmas. Um but I love baking cookies with them and leaving leaving treats out for santa and the whole thing now, we also saw your Tiktok with a lot of your close friends and of course wine was involved in a lot of those. We also know you're a spokesperson for unison. So how do you sort of decompress after a really long day? Do you use wine? I mean, listen, I, for me, it's like, okay, like my nighttime routine. I mean, yes, I like to have a glass of wine with my girlfriends, but I definitely don't rely on the wine to help me fall asleep. I mean, sure, it helps me relax. But you know, I take a more with unis um, simple slumbers. It's, it's great because it's drug free. Um, it's just melatonin and it's got, you know, a few other little gems in there that help you feel rested. And I think sometimes like when you do drink the alcohol, like you might not get that rested sleep. And so that's why it's like, okay. If I'm, if I've got a lot going on, my mind's going a million miles per minute and I need that extra help. Um, and I want to have a good night's sleep and wake up feeling refreshed, not groggy. That's why I love the Unison simple numbers because it really does like give me like that rested sleep. Um, and I wake up being like, all right, I'm mom, I'm ready to do my jobs podcast, whatever it is and show up for the day. So, um, yeah. And especially with daylight savings time ending. It's like, yeah, you get an extra hour, but it kind of does mess with your schedule. It's the worst. It's the absolute worst. This is why I'm so happy they're getting rid of that stupid thing and by the way, I don't know and I can't believe anybody can function without sleep at all. Like if I get anything less than eight hours, I'm basically a zombie the next day. I mean how important is sleep to you? I mean it's incredibly important because if I don't, if I, you know, I gotta show up and be a mom, I gotta show up and work and I've got jobs I got to do and so that's why I like, you know, it's to be able to rely on something like, you know, some simple numbers at times to be able to make sure that I get that great sleep because there are, you know, there's in the holidays coming up, there's important, you know, end of quarter work stuff. It's like I need to be the best version of myself and do the best, you know, best mom and I need to show up. And so it's nice that there's um, there's a way to and there's, you know, you know, some to help me kind of like okay collect, have a good night's sleep. But there's also things too, like I work out, I meditate, I read, I write a journal and I think really just taking care of your self care is really important around this time of year. Absolutely.
