Actor Skyh Alvester Black Talks Season Two of 'All The Queen's Men'

Welcome back Between Bells, if you like, drama suspense and very good looking men, then beat all the Queen's men is just for you. Indeed you have the show back for season two. It follows Madam Deville, a fierce businesswoman who's at the top of her game in the Atlanta nightclub industry, who is not gonna let anybody stand in her way this over, she reigns over her crew of loyal and very attractive, very attractive. Yes. Wait and see how God deals with you, Baby God deals with me every day. I'm a woman in this game, I have to continue to prove myself so that they don't try me. I need her dead. Oh yeah, so I sat down with Sky Black to talk all about season to take a look at this. I'm really excited to talk to you. So what does it mean for the show to be back up here again? Oh, you know, I feel like our show is a little show that could and the little show and now the big show that did, I'm glad to say publicly that I just got the word, it is the number one show on the network. Yes, that's great news and it's always good to come back season two. I feel like you um you settled into the process a little more, but for myself and my character, he's a total 1 80 really a 3 60. So his character arc is incredible and I'm having a great time. Um just exploring the dimensions of him that I didn't even see in the first season and Sky by the way without giving too much away. What can fans expect when the rest of season two picks back up here in the fall here soon. Oh man, when the rest of season two, it's a wild ride, okay, it's a completely wild ride and the most I can say is expect the unexpected and if you have seen the first half of season two is kinda see that on steroids. Oh, okay, well by the way, we gotta talk about the dancing cause by the way, that is my favorite part of this show, amazing moves in this was their preparation that you had to do in for this. Were you always a good dancer? What's it like being with all these other guys who are amazing dancers? Well, I used to be a backup dancer, I was a backup dancer for Beyonce, Mariah and Rihanna for like 10 years, I was my career, I was on tour, so the dancing element um when it came back in, it felt like home, but not only that, I also had to learn a lot because it's male exotic dancing. So I really had to pay attention to the guys and not only pay attention but study the guys. I asked questions um and really put myself in the mode of what it feels like to be a male exotic entertainer. So um it was, I learned a lot from the guys and and it's fun, it's been a great ride man. Do you have do, by the way, do you have like a go to dance move when you're at a party by any chance? Um It's called Stand by the bar. Yes, by the way, I'm very good at that dance move. Also my favorite one, By the way, this isn't the first time you've worked with Tyler Perry. You also earned his B. E. T. Series sisters as well. What's it like working with him and also his directing style here? I think working with Tyler for me is one of the best and I don't just say that because Tyler is my boss, if you can be successful at Tyler Perry Studios, you can be successful anywhere. People don't realize we shoot um literally about 70 to 80 pages a day, depending on the production. Um we have just 1 to 2 tapes. So you're in your character in your moment from the time that go in to the time that he else cut. And some may say the directing style is a little bit unconventional, but it makes you a beast of a craftsman to where you can do anything. I feel like I do anything once and we'll also probably just the pressure because you're like, I only get one or two takes on this, I have to get it right. So if anything, I would be so exactly, so and anxious, I would be dying the whole time. I'm not messing up, but by the way shows like P Valley really sort of showcasing all the drama that happens behind the scenes at these exotic clubs. I mean, what is it about these club culture and the exotic club culture that is so enticing to us to want to watch this, I think because it's been taboo for so long, and when we finally get to, I guess in in I'll use the euphemism, forbidden fruit. When we get to indulge in the forbidden fruit, it intrigues us. Just like anything. It's like when your parents say, oh, don't do that, of course, what do you wanna do? We wanna go and do it and we want to go and see it. The underbelly of the life is actually very, very true. Yeah, and by the way, even Marcel, you know, huge fan of her also, she's part of this show as well. What's it like working with her? Oh, we have the best time, man, I think the best thing about even myself, she plays my aunt on the show and even I always say we have such a great chemistry because we never get together before and rehearse. It's like this like cosmic magical thing that once we get on camera, we literally make magic happen and a lot of this stuff may not even be on the page or stuff that we saw on the page. May in the moment Pop up to be something totally different and just a way that's inexplicable. So we have a great time. We trust each other. Yeah, even huge housewives super fan. So I love me some, even Marcel, by the way, obviously she was on the real Housewives. If you could be on any reality show, what would you be on? Um a show called Never, Never? Never? Why? Why not? So we have no reality show in your future, you know, I think um the the thing that really intrigues me about, I guess I'll say reality in a sense is docuseries. I really, um I'm getting, I'm getting married, I'm actually getting engaged, I'm engaged already, but I'm actually getting married to my former co star MS KJ smith, she's the lead of Sisters, but we're in the midst of, we have a wedding document that we're doing and it's been very therapeutic, it's been very reflective, it's been very uh oh wow, I kind of make that face or when I'm in a meeting, I'll be honest little transparency right before this, I just got off the phone with my zoom call with my wedding planner. So I was watching myself and I'm like, oh, I guess I do make that face when I hear so well look, if you can survive a wedding documentary, I mean, I guess you could really survive anything. I think at this point they're going over certain details and you're like, whatever she wants, whatever. Yeah, cameras are here, absolutely whatever she wants.
