Actors Sara Wolfkind & Usman Ally Talk New Hulu Thriller 'Grimcutty' 

grim Connie has finally arrived on hulu in the movie. An internet meme comes to life stirring up panic among parents and kids in a small town, take a look Hey, did you find her? No, Did you know Oh it was a grim Cuddy and I actually sat down with the stars of the film, Sara Wolf kind and Usman Ali to find out more, Check it out. Usman, I'll start with you. This film is part of a streamers, hula, ween slate. So first off, what is this monster grim Cuddy? Well, jim Cuddy is uh sort of a meme that's come to life. One of these memes that sort of telling kids what to do. Maybe you harm themselves and parents are concerned about it. But in reality it actually is a creature that has come to life stalking these Children, making them do certain things. So it's kind of your classic creature feature but with a modern twist because it's about some of the things that kids are expiry these days uh in our society right now. Oh my gosh, still traditional but scary all the same. And Sarah you know, in the trailer, you are literally getting strangled by this meme monster. How do you even prepare for a role like this? Compared to some of the other projects you've worked on in the past, you like practice getting strangled in the mirror or what? I feel like this role had a lot of more imagination than other roles. Um I don't think I did so much mirror work. I just like ask like the DPM like does this look good, does it look like I'm being choked? I feel like I did jujitsu before, so I was like, I know what it's like being choked. Um so I just tried to imagine that. Well you did a great job doing it and it was my fans of yours. No, you from comedies like veep and the God's favorite idiot, but now you're starring in this horror film, What challenges does this genre bring for you? I mean, yeah, it's my first time actually doing a horror. So I was I was excited about that. Just the opportunity to do something very different. But the biggest challenge sometimes is just suspending your disbelief, you know, because things move pretty fast in the genre horror and you have to accept the reality that you're in that it's it's this supernatural otherworldly sort of thing, very different than, you know, doing like God's favorite idiot. Uh so that was probably the biggest challenge, but the most fun at the same time. So would you like to do more scary movies? For sure. Yeah, I got the eyebrows for it, you know what I mean? That's true. And sarah in today's world of, you know, social media, why is this idea of grim cut is so terrifying cause I'm scared just watching the trailer. Oh man, I I think that social media is scary on its own, but like the fact, like a lot of things on social media are fake and a lot of people know that but a meme that actually comes to life I think can be terrifying because it's all on the internet and seeing something in reality can be so surreal and terrifying. Alright well since it is so terrifying when you're watching it does kind of being behind the scenes and making the movie and you know, make it a little less terrifying or creepy. I don't know at times. But you know, there were, there were times when we were shooting and like it seemed really late, like maybe 12 or one in the morning and we were shooting at this one location that used to be like a I think like a hospital for people who were at mental illness and there's all these like spooky stories about it. So shooting and having like a creature chasing you while you're at this hospital in the middle of abandoned hospital in the middle of the night. Uh it was pretty scary. Oh my God, did you have nightmares at all? Not me. I'm a big boy. Okay, Sarah, what about you? Did this bring any nightmares to you? Um don't forget the nightmares. I remember the makeup artist and like the hair and makeup team, they're sending me videos of this door that like would like open by itself and then I got really freaked out by that. It was like in the hospital shooting location. So that freaked me out. But no nightmares. Okay, so then are you a fan of, you know, watching horror films or anything? I Sometimes I have to be in the right mood. I just went to Halloween four nights and that was super fun. But I have to be in the right mood and with the right person to watch a horror film. Okay, so both of you real quick, what scary movie franchise would you still want to be in? I just saw, I just remember like the Halloween Horror Nights maze. There's like a bunch of Michael Myers at the end. That would be super cool or if they make like a second bird box, that would be awesome. Okay, I would have to go really classic with the stuff that kind of scared me when I was a kid, like Freddy Krueger and well if there was another nightmare on Elm Street, if they had something new to say that the new nightmare on the streets, I would love to just kind of be a part of that just for the fun of it.
