our next guest star in the Hallmark Channel's newest movie, a magical christmas village starting alongside bro, star luke Macfarlane, the main character finds herself leading on the magic of the holidays to open her heart once again. Yes and I sat down with the stars of the film Alison Sweeney and marlo thomas to discuss the latest editions to Hallmark's holiday slate. Take a look All right, Alison Marlow, good to talk to you guys. Allison, I want to start with you. Your character finds her mother and her daughter moving in with her. So tell us about summer and replace in this new film here. Well summer is someone who is very practical, she likes to keep everything organized, she has a schedule, she has a plan, she's a single mom, so she knows how to get things done right and her mom is the opposite, her mom, Vivian is fun and and flighty and she kind of goes with the flow and she doesn't always have a plan and she finds herself without a home at the holidays and so my character has to invite her to stay and they both go into it. I think it's such a fun opening scene where they both really reveal like this is not a good idea, we both know we shouldn't do this but we're gonna give it a try and so she moves in with her for the holidays and you know exactly as they expected, they immediately cross swords right. Like they immediately have some tension and they both have to work through it but they're they're they love each other and the basic differences, I believe in magic and she does not. So when I bring the christmas village, which I think families all over America have them. I know I do uh and she sets up the christmas village and the little, the little granddaughter, my granddaughter, her daughter says, oh what does it do? And summer's character says it doesn't do anything honey, it just collects dust and I said you make a wish and it comes true. So there's these completely two different people and the little granddaughters in the middle of course she goes on my side because what kid doesn't want magic. So it's just uh it's charming but it really makes wonderful underlying true. Truthful points about what goes on in families at holiday time and just the different personalities and the grandma, my character and the daughter, her daughter there, there two generations apart so they really connect and the mom left out the single mom is making it work paying the bill, you know, working, making it happen. It's just such a true story, which is why I decided to do it. It just, it has such a real fiber in it. Yeah. And I love the dynamic already that I'm from you two already for this. Are you guys a sucker for christmas and holiday movies like the rest of us. Do you love this stuff? Oh yeah, Oh yeah, we're both big celebrators. So yeah, we love decorate, we talked about it too. I mean how we decorate the house is how I decorate my tree. How it's just everything about christmas like you like, I like to have the music on all season long and the minute you put it up, your lifted, put the music on the middle and I wake up it's playing, you know, bing Crosby Andy Griffith lady gaga and Andy Williams. It's just all, it just lifts you. And somebody once said that that christmas is a sense memory, the all time sense memory, the smell of the pines and the, and the tree and the music and the taste of the turkey and the candy and the lights. It's all one sense memory, the spiced wine, the mold like just smelling the stove the best, it's the best guys. I got to talk about luke Macfarlane in this, I've been in love with him forever. It seems like he's coming up, he's coming off his amazing film bros. What was it like working with him in this film? He was fantastic, so handsome, So fun to work with. And then what I love about the stories that we each got to have our own character development with him separately, right, strangers in a grocery store and they meet. So she gets to have her own set of scenes. He doesn't know it's my mom and then I have this cute, a cute moment with him that you feel does have a little bit of magic connected to it. Like it might never really have happened if not for the christmas, the magic of the christmas village. And uh and they bond and they connect and they're sort of really brought together and they keep coming into each other seeing each other again and it's just so romantic and really fun. He's so good in the movie and so handsome and he's just gorgeous and their love scene is so adorable. You see them coming together. It's sexy and sweet and the look on her face when she looks at him and thanks to Alison Sweeney and marlo thomas.
