Ali Summerville, Business Administration Executive and Head of Corporate Citizenship of Ally, joins Your Cheddar to discuss the company's month of giving back. She talks about companies' responsibility to their communities and how that impacts employees, customers, and investors. During this year's Financial Literacy Month, employees read Ally's financial literacy book to more than 20,000 children across the country, focusing on early finance literacy in schools. Summerville talks about the new millennial approach to giving. The generation is more likely to integrate causes into daily life by buying products that support sustainable or fair trade principles or by joining large movements that aim to solve social or environmental problems -- even if this means spending more money on each product.
