All right. And staying with the President's 9 11 address. Let's head over to the nation's capital where our own aerial Hickson is standing by with more. Good morning Ariel Good morning Shannon. President biden honored the victims of 9 11 sunday during a ceremony at the pentagon during his speech. The president took the time to not only reflect on the nearly 3000 lives lost, but talk about the significance of securing american democracy today. Take a listen. There's nothing this nation cannot accomplish when we stand together and defend with all our hearts that which makes us unique in the world, our democracy. We don't always live up to it, but we've never walked away from it. 21 years ago. Nearly 3000 people were killed during the 9 11 attacks planned by the leader of al Qaeda, Osama bin laden has hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade center, the pentagon and a field near shanksville pennsylvania during his speech, The president acknowledged the recent killing of Al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri, saying that the US quote will never give up. Family members of the victims of the attacks were in attendance as the president participated in a wreath laying ceremony. The president also mentioned that he has a future quote plan for the families of 9 11 victims and while we have, the aerial president biden is set to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth the second next week. Do we have any sort of details on what those plans are gonna look like for the president. Well, baker Buckingham palace specifically invited the president and the first lady to the funeral, meaning that the president is not permitted to assemble a delegation some background here in previous state funerals, they've allowed for the president to bring a delegation or a small team of officials to the event. For example, this did happen at the funeral of former South African President Nelson Mandela. Regardless, the White House confirmed that the president and first lady will attend and the funeral will be held September 19 at Westminster Abbey.
