Bacardi Releases New Additions to its Real Rum Canned Cocktails

Friends between bells on baker for Chatham new york next month, the official start of summer and to mark the start of everybody's favorite season Bacardi now launching a series of new additions to their popular real run canned cocktail collection. So in honor of the new additions, the iconic rum brand now wants consumers to move like it's summer and unleash your perfect summer self. So joining us now discusses ned Duggan Global senior vice president over at Bacardi. It's such a pleasure to have you here ned. Thanks so much for joining us and tell us about this new move like summer campaign. What was sort of the inspiration behind us? Thanks so much for having me baker move. Like summer is a great fun, vibrant campaign that's just launching right now right in time for summer and the inspiration behind it was really that none of us are the same person throughout the year. We all sort of different sides of us come out in different seasons and I don't know about you, but for me, summer brings out this idea of freedom of fun when I used to have hair, I used to let my hair down and really just sit back with a cocktail and enjoy things in the backyard and so we wanted to bring that spirit to life through a campaign and so we created two different fixed 15 2nd executions. One is called beach day and it focuses on our ready to drink line are Bacardi canned cocktails, delicious cocktails in a can and then the other is another 15 2nd execution called block party and that really focuses on our Bacardi coconut flavor, which is really the perfect flavor for summer. Okay, so we've actually got a couple of the cans in here here in studio and I want to show our viewers sort of the different flavors here explain the sort of different flavor variations here and how they are sort of synonymous here with summer ned. Sure, so we are just launching a Bacardi pina colada. Classic summer cocktail hails from Puerto rico and has always had great Bacardi superior rum. Uh we also have for those mojito lovers, two different twists on mojitos. So we have a strawberry mojito and a mango mojito. And then we also have a sunset punch and sunset punches blood orange lemon, a little bit of ginger that gives you a nice kick and each one of them just has a great summer vibe and it will be a great backyard cocktail. Okay, so you guys do the, do do what moves you brand sort of campaign? How does this summer campaign sort of fit within that ethos here of course. So the do what moves you campaign is all about people living their lives as their true selves Bacardi and rumor are those drinks that people want to let their hair down with and really just be themselves. And so the campaign really, really brings that spirit to life and move like it's summer is just that, that other side of yourself that summer self as we were developing it. We kept talking about everybody has a summer you and really bringing that summer you out for everybody this summer. All right, so I'm gonna try this mango mojito. Tell me what sort of the creation process was like. Did you personally go and try some of these things during the process here? I do. It's a long process. So hopefully you like it. Excellent. Excellent. No, So we we started with a number of different flavors. Uh, mojito is such a classic cocktail for for Bacardi in for rum and uh people are loving to play with mojitos and and inject fresh fruit juices and strawberry and mango. We're both both really came to the, to the forefront as the best flavors we tested with consumers and just had an overwhelmingly positive response. Is it difficult to sort of make? I would think a mojito into a canned beverage. Look, a mojito is amazing when you get it from a bartender, but I can only imagine it being maybe an arduous process to create it in a ready to drink form. It is, it is, and but we do we use all natural juices, which which helps we use real Bacardi superior rum. So you truly are getting the type of cocktail that you would get at a bar, you're getting it right at home in a in a can. So that convenience factor has been such a big driver for for ready to drink for canned cocktails over the course of the pandemic. Really? Okay, so this campaign and all the ads all about movement all that summer, which makes me feel so happy because I love summer. So we want to know what are the best songs, not just sort of pair with some of these songs. So I'm gonna grab it over here. What song should I be pairing with this pina colada over here do you think? Alright, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try not to embarrass myself, but so pina colada is the national drink of Puerto rico. And so I want to go to a Puerto Rican song and artists and I'll choose luis Fonsi and daddy esposito, which is one might, might also be sticking in people's heads now that they've heard that I heard the name. Okay, I'm gonna do that. All right, Next one we got um, I actually don't have it up here with me, but it's the strawberry mojito flavor. What is a good one for the strawberry mojito? The strawberry mojito. I'm going to go right to the song that plays throughout the move like summer campaign. Uh and that is chemical or by major lazer and j balvin, great, great summer vibe. Um, and definitely would pair well with the strawberry mojito. Okay, loving that one. Okay, I want to do the one that I'm drinking right now that I'm really enjoying by right now. The mango mojito flavor ned. What am I parent with this one while I'm dancing, mango mojito is all about the tropics and so I'm going to go way back to Conga. The original by, via Stephens and most recently the version by Leslie Grace and Meek Mill. That is a great dance tune came out last year and it's a perfect pair. I love this. Alright, finally the Sunset Punch ned, what are we doing to the Sunset Punch? This one's got a bit of a kick. So I'm gonna go with, it's a song called juice by Denise Dionne who's an up and coming caribbean artist that we worked with on a program we do called Major, Excuse me, Music liberates music and just a great song, perfect for summer and perfect for the Sunset Punch.
