Be Well: DIY Huntress Sam Raimondi Builds Backyard Deck

We have amazing weekend projects that you can do yourself really to elevate your backyard. So we have the diy huntress with us. So Sam, talk to me about this project. This project is actually even better than a weekend project because you could actually get it done in a day if you're really, yeah, totally. So this project is a really simple way to kind of like hack the back of your house for a fire pit area. So for us, we really wanted a fire pit, but we only had grass here and you don't want to put your fire pit directly on grass. So I found these really awesome concrete pavers that kind of look like mosaic tiles that lock together and you can make them any design you want. So I dug out some grass, I put in these pavers. And how did you decide how many you needed and how big of an area? Honestly, I kind of did one of those things where I just threw them together and I was like, I think this looks kind of cool. And so then I did it that way. And uh really, honestly, after a couple of hours of work. I was able to lock all of these papers together. And did you have to put anything in between them to get them to stick or? No? So they stick kind of by themselves, which is nice. But I did actually backfill a little bit with some dirt, a little bit of gravel. Just so the grass doesn't grow back in between the papers. Ok. Sure. Um And so if any ash falls down, it's really not hitting anything that and this one is smokeless. This is a smokeless fire pit, which makes a huge difference. It's awesome. We kind of just light it on really awesome summer nights and it's been great. And now what about the lighting? I think this one has such a great feature. Yeah. So let's talk about these lighting. So these string lights are like elevated string lights because they actually have mosquito repellent pods in them when you plug these lights and these little pods heat up and they release some oils that keep the mosquitoes away while you're hanging out outside. And so the great thing is if you are hanging out outside, of course, you're gonna plug in the lights and then you don't even have to think about the repellent. It's already built in. Exactly. And now how did you decide to use this area that like this was the right spot for the fire pit? So this space when we moved into this house used to be a big concrete pad and we kind of envisioned a little fire pit near it, but we wanted a little more grass in our backyard. So for us, this just made total sense for where we wanted to put our fire pit. So the ease of doing it if you gave it like a one out of 10, 0, this is easily like a two or three out of 10 anyone can do. This is such a simple project like 11 out of 10. Highly recommend it. And what about for price like? Is this fairly affordable, fairly affordable? I believe each one of those mosaic sheets cost about $10 a piece to be quite honest. So really the biggest thing you're investing is your fire pit. It's a good one. Yeah, I know you want some do it.
