Be Well: Family Bonding With Arts and Crafts

Many kids might be a little nervous to go back to school and a great way to ease those jitters is to have some fun crafting with them. So here to show us some simple budget, friendly crafting you can do with your entire family is the creator of Crazy Mom creations, Lisa TC. Thank you so much for being here. Good morning. Thanks for having me. They have some pretty awesome things that you can do. What age group are we talking about with these craft projects? Elementary age, maybe kindergarten through six. OK? And a lot of these things we can just get at the Dollar store, right? All of these things came from the Dollar store. OK. So tell us what this first project is. Um So this is a pencil holder that we made with popsicle sticks and the base of it is a vegetable can OK? Everyone has in their home. So we're gonna try to make one and all you did is you put a can in the center here, right? Any can and then we just surround what, what are these popsicle sticks? These are popsicle sticks that we painted in the colors of the pencils and all you really need is a hot glue gun, right? That's it. That's good. And then we just paste these on here just like that. Let's see if I can pull it off. Oh, we got, we got it all backwards. There we go. Almost any age can do this. Ok? And that's it. And we just put our cans on, right? Like that. Yeah. And then if you wanna, um, give it the number two in the front, you're gonna take one of these stickers from dollar tree as well. It has a chalk pen that comes with it. Number two, you can write a name on it. A teacher's name on it. If you want to gift it to your teacher for her desk. That's a good idea. Stick it on the right on there like that. Perfect. All right. That's a great one. Now, next up we have looks like these little bus frames. Yes, that is so cute. It's like the front of a school bus. Ok. So what is this made up? So that is made again of popsicle sticks. We used a popsicle sticks in the yellow border, a silver one and one for the black. Now, how do you hang these up? So you can either attach magnets, which is what we did here on ours. Ok. Again, with the hot glue gun and that will go on to your refrigerator or you can take a piece of twine which comes from the dollar tree and just hang it up, hang on to the back. I love that. And you can put little words on the front too with these letters and you just stick these on. Would you say these are easier for kids to work with us? The sticky things? Absolutely. They don't need glue or any of that stuff. Just pop them right on and they stick and you bedazzled them too with these jewel headlights, right? I love that. That looks fun for all. Ok. So next on the final object we're making is, is an apple, an apple for your teacher? Oh, ok. Now, what is this made of, what are these? This is just a dollar tree wood cut out. Ok. And you paint at the back, we painted it red just in case we missed a spot, we took tissue paper and we just crinkled it up that up. I mean, kids love busting stuff and crinkling stuff up. So you just roll it into a really small ball and then just stick them on. You can use the hot glue. You can also use the glue stick. All right. Well, thank you so much. These are great ideas.
