Be Well: What Tech Accessories You Need to Head Back to School

Hey, Shannon and Elizabeth, it's time to pack your kid up for college but you don't know what you're missing until you figure it all out. And for help with that, we have seen that Bridget Carey. Bridget, you get in a bind. You don't even know why you're in that bind. Right? Oh, there's so many things you don't think about until you get there. Uh And there's a lot of access you need for your tech, not just the laptop on the back pack, you need a lot of little things too. What do you got? Ok. So these are some accessories made by a company called Nomad. But what I like about them is that they can help you stay sane by keeping your devices charged. One thing parents don't really think about and students too is that you're going to need a really long charging cord. The dorm. Yes, for the dorm because you don't know where the outlet is and what if you're on a high bunk. So get something that's extra long and get something that's woven. Uh You have, you're gonna have a more tough cord. Uh So it doesn't really fray and someone yanks it or trips on it. So you always want to have something really tough and really long. Very clever. And you have to have extra chargers around because your roommate will steal it. Absolutely. Always pack extra chargers. You're gonna need some of these wall outlet ones. And I like being extra safe. You don't know where you're going to be when you need to transfer something off your phone or your computer. They now have key chains that are just really easy to like if you're in a jam plug in your phone, plug in your computer, you know, keep yourself charged or these universal charging ends because sometimes you have different devices that have different needs. If it's an iphone, it needs a lightning, but maybe it's your friend's phone that needs a micro USB or USBC and just for about 25 bucks, you can something like this that takes care of everybody, throw it in your bag and you're good to go and speaking of throwing your bag, you're gonna want to get something like an air tag. If you're an Apple user, something that can help track your bag, track your stuff and they even have holders. So you could use a keychain or you can buy something like this card holder, you pop it in and it can go in your wallet in your bag. You're going home to see mom, maybe you want to put it in your suitcase. So you could do a lot of, yeah, because you can leave your backpack somewhere on the campus and forget about it and not know where it is and that'll get you. Yeah. And then another problem that sometimes you come across is that you need a port that maybe your computer doesn't have, sometimes these really thin computers now only have certain different connectors. But if you get something like this you can get nine different ports in one for $40. This is from a company called basis. And sometimes you might need an Ethernet connection. If you're at the library, maybe your dorm room has something. So it's something else will save you if you have to have a different kind of USB port, they got everything here, even memory cards.
