I still love you or showcasing his amazing voice on both the screen and stage. He's probably on twitch streaming the latest video game and now the star is partnering with the american optometric association that to promote eye health and monitoring your screen time. So joining us now is actor Jordan Fisher. Jordan welcome each other news. Hi, how you doing? Great, thanks. So we're gonna get to this amazing partnership you have in a moment. But first let's talk about your new film on netflix. Hello, goodbye and everything in between fans loving this rom com. I'm curious was it what was it like sort of being part of this project that also had a huge following from the book here? Yeah, I mean, I mean you get a project like this that comes across your desk and and there's a handful of things that go through your mind. You go why now, why this story, you know, like what impact can I have as an actor on this thing and after reading the novel and just feeling the humanity and the sophistication between the the way that Claire and Aiden spoke to one another and and the dynamics and their friendships and relationships and whatnot. Like this is this is and honest to God. Like just human moment in human experience. This is a moment about two people going through one of the biggest transitional periods of their lives, that all of us go through graduating high school figuring out what college life is going to be like if we're going to college or are we going to stay in a relationship together? We're gonna break up before we go to like, what, what, what are all of these dynamics and how do we explore them? How do we talk about them? That that's what got me so excited about this project. And then on top of that, after working with the 12 boys crew and and and the producers overhead hace they asked if I would jump on board as a creative and help build it as a producer. And so it is my producer real debut and, and I have since, you know, locked a handful of other projects and and are excited for people to see uh wow, congratulations on the producing credit here. I mean, your imdb page is gonna be so excited to see this Jordan's. Um so, um so you're right, the storyline is something that we all basically have gone through, especially in high school, so I got to know what really is the key to a successful break up here, I don't know, is there a key to a successful breakup? Like, I think that communication really is the biggest thing, right? Like that, that that's the that's the overlying theme in the entirety of the piece, but really just my marriage as well, the reason why Ellie and I function so well together is our ability to talk to one another. Our ability to like open up and dialogue and like actually share our feelings about things and know that like we are there on the other side to like love and to comfort and it's unconditional and that kind of thing. I mean I think that where a breakup is concerned, it's it's tough because you have to kind of like discern whether or not you feel like you can see you with them for the rest of your life or if you can imagine not having them anymore And that's usually the harder one, right? So you know, I don't know if there's a key to a successful breakup. I think it's just like case by case and everyone just has to talk. I think that that's always the biggest thing. It's usually the most relationships is just not talking to each other so true and and think of how many relationships didn't work out because nobody was talking to one another Jordan. You're so busy, You're also starred in the animated HBO max musical, naked mole rat gets dressed the underground rock experience. Talk about your character here and maybe how you sort of maybe resonated with this character in this man, it's funny that naked mole rats her. Yeah, I mean this is this is you're really sweet family oriented coming out story truly. I mean it's it's it's it's a it's a story about comfort and in yourself and believing in that, you know what you want to do that is expressive and right for you because it feels good should just happen and just be celebrated. Like why do we all have to be naked? Like clothes are fun? Why not try them every once in a while? Like, you know, you don't have to, but like, I like them, you know, and it's not hurting you that I like them. So what's, I don't know what the big deal is and, and, and the colony of the most naked rats in all time, especially where grandma, who is the naked ist of naked mole rats is concerned. Like we'll never be okay with this. Uh, you know, it's, it's that it's that really sweet Cinderella story in that way. And, and uh, this was the first project that I got to make for my kid, like for my son to watch and uh, to sing along with and that that that's, that's so special to me. Absolutely. I can only imagine like how excited he was to see this as well. You know, from seeing that his dad had worked so hard on this uh Jordan, let's talk about your partnership that you got with the american optometric association, tell us about this partnership and why did you want to sort of get on board with them? Well, I mean, you know, you mentioned it earlier, like, you know, I do a lot of different things and I'm in my office most of the days these days, like, you know, if I'm, if I'm on set in front of a camera, it's for a project that I am, I am dying to be a part of um, I don't say yes to everything anymore, I don't have that kind of time. I'm, I have found a space and in a place as a creative where I can build and love to do what I do, right? So that has put me in my office, that's put me in front of my computer, it's put me in front of emails and reading scripts and writing and having to be on zoom calls and doing things like we're doing today and you know, the whole press junket and talking about the whole thing. I am in front of these screens all day every single day. Right? So this kind of partnership is the most authentic to me, especially considering the gaming community, especially considering the way that the gaming community doesn't usually usually go out of their way. It's uh, you know, ensure that they are taking care of their health and, and that's so much of, of, of why I'm here and why I'm a part of the thing. I mean we do so many different things to, you know, ensure that we stay healthy and, and, and, and, and keep our bodies up to date, you know, we strap on helmets and, and, and gear before we go skate. And and and do what we do there But we so often neglect our doctor of optometry and their ability to be able to give you the most thorough eye exam that you can possibly get. Which is the most important thing. I mean like one of one of our lines that we like to use is that you have to go get checked off line to be able to stay online. And then that's the thing like it's it's it's so vital, it's so important to to go and have a relationship with your doctor of optometry and to understand where your vision is. Dude, like I'm gonna, I'm gonna see my kids grow up and I'm gonna keep playing video games and I'm gonna keep sitting at this computer so I might as well make sure that I do everything that I can to see it and to and to be as healthy as possible. Absolutely, so Jordan, we know you're a serious gamer. So in honor of all those skills, we want to play a little quick round of rapid questions in a little game, we're calling gaming with jordans jordans, I'm gonna ask you a few gaming related questions you just have to answer your best is that you wanna play? Alright, alright, first up Jordan, here we go, we all remember playing video games as a kid. So what Jordan's is your favorite childhood video game you remember playing when you were younger? Mm Okay so so I have a handful. The one that like my my street that I grew up on that we all took very seriously with super smash brothers. That was the thing like yeah, 1999 to like early aughts like it was just super smash brothers, tournaments left and right on a personal level. Kingdom Hearts has always been my favorite franchise just in general. All right. But you know, still in my thirties Mario kart still very high on the list for me. All right, we know you're skilled at gaming jordans but what's the one game you have yet to beat? Um You know, I think that a lot of the gaming industry would would I feel like they know pretty well that I don't play League of Legends. Um I can't I can't play League of Legends. I don't know what it is. I can't do it. I simply can't, I've tried and I can't I can't get it. I can't not there like I need I need to like I need to find a ray gun and like you know jump off of a building and shooting aliens. That's okay. Alright, so we have found Jordan fisher's achilles heel when it comes to gaming everybody play League of Legends. Alright. Final one, Jordan's last one, there are so many epic gaming moves out there. What is your favorite signature gaming move? Oh man I'm gonna throw, I'm gonna throw um I'm gonna throw my, my homie caesar was a great content creator cd in the third. He's based in Jersey, great streamer. He, he actually patented this thing we called Enos. It's the eastern north american strength and it's essentially just making your character just do all sorts of crazy things to dodge bullets and bad things and stuff and we just call it Enos amazing.
