President Joe Biden is hosting Costa Rican, President Rodrigo Chavez. Today at the White House, the leaders are expected to discuss how the two countries can work together to strengthen economic ties through new jobs and how to create legal pathways for migrants. Costa Rica has been an immigration hot spot with more and more migrants traveling through the dangerous Darian gap from Colombia into Central America and Costa Rica in June, the US and Costa Rica agreed to open possible legal pathways for migrants crossing into the US. This would include some Venezuelan and Nicaraguan migrants among a total of 240,000 asylum seekers.
