Biden Proposes New Nursing Home Standards

The Biden administration proposed new rules today that would require nursing homes to revise staffing procedures. Nursing homes would be required to provide each patient at least 33 minutes of care a day from a registered nurse. The fac facilities will also have to provide at least two hours and 27 seven minutes of care per day to each of its residents. Now, if this new law goes into effect, registered nurses would also need to be on site at the nursing home 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The proposed rule bills on Biden's action plan for nursing home reform which was launched in 2022.
