Haiti finds itself with even greater political instability following the assassination of President Jovenel Moise on Wednesday. David Tafuri, a former Obama campaign foreign policy advisor and former State Department official, joined Cheddar to discuss the fallout from the shocking attack and how Haitians are looking to a response from the U.S. government. While President Biden has been criticized over remarks about the Caribbean nation in the past, Tafuri said the U.S. has an incentive to help stabilize Haiti and other Latin American nations dealing with economic and political challenges in order to curb surges in migration and that he expects Biden to take a multilateral approach alongside allies in dealing with the situation.
