Vice President Kamala Harris began her trip to Vietnam by taking aim at China's "bullying" tactics and calling for more pressure on Beijing to abide by UN conventions on sea trade. Weifeng Zhong, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, joined Cheddar to discuss current trade tensions between the U.S. and China. "Ironically, the new boss is the same as the old boss in terms of trade, at least towards China," he said, explaining that Biden's policies are similar to former President Trump's approach. Zhong noted that the Harris trip likely is geared more towards shoring up local alliances in East Asia in the trade conflict with Beijing.
