The United States is expected to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord once President-elect Biden takes office. This comes shortly after the U.S. became the first country to withdraw from the deal - something President Trump announced in 2017, but only became official earlier this month. The U.S. is the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases behind China, and will be key in the global effort to reduce the effects of climate change. Tom Brookes, Executive Director, European Climate Foundation, says this is a very significant moment and Biden's election win was reassuring to a large number of people around the world.
