Michael S. Weinstein, the chair of white collar criminal defense practice at law firm Cole Schotz, joined Wake Up With Cheddar to break down the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's decision to free Bill Cosby after he was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault in 2018. Weinstein noted that the court overturned the conviction based on an agreement Cosby made years ago with former prosecutor Bruce Castor to give a deposition in a civil case with the understanding he wouldn't be criminally prosecuted. With his release, questions are now being raised about the implications the ruling could have on other high-profile sex crime cases.
