Biz Breakdown: Airbnb Flaunts New Features, Disney Tops Streaming Subscriber Numbers, Saudi Aramco Most Valuable Company On Earth

Let's take a look at some of the other business headlines we're watching for you this morning. Airbnb now unveiling some new booking features that ahead of the busy summer travel season. The features include split stays. This will give you the option to split stays between locations for longer trips. There's also a new search tool that will allow people to search for homes in 56 different categories. Those include home styles, proximity to places like national parks or vineyards and even distance to an activity like golfing or camping. The company also expanding guest protections as well. So now the platform will offer users similar accommodations or refunds if a booking is canceled or if they can't check into a home or if the listing wasn't as advertised. Meanwhile, Sheriff's at Disney are up premarket that after the company posted better than expected subscriber growth in the first quarter, Disney Plus gained 7.9 million customers in the first three months of the year. They now have 137.7 million of them. That's up 33% from a year ago and higher than Wall Street's estimates of 134.4 million. However, management did note that the second half of this year may not be as fast as previously expected when it comes to subscriber numbers. Disney subscriber growth better news though than Netflix had they, what they reported recently last month. Netflix reported that they lost 200,000 subscribers compared to the previous quarter. That was their first dip in over a decade and apple no longer the world's most valuable company anymore. That title now belongs to Saudi Arabian oil giant Saudi Aramco. Apple's market cap, currently now at 2.37 trillion. That after falling 5.2% in yesterday's session, Aramco traded close to its record level and it snuck just under 2.43 trillion on Wednesday, surpassing apple for the very first time since 2020. Now, soaring oil prices are contributing to increased profits over at Aramco. Meanwhile, the tech sector is seeing a downturn that's due to inflation and supply chain challenges.
