Joe Cardamone has worked at JCPenney for over 43 years, and is currently the general manager for the store in the Manhattan Mall. He has been preparing for this Black Friday for over a month, but took some time out of one of the busiest shopping days to talk to Cheddar. Joe says Black Friday kicked off really strong this year with around 2,000 customers entering the store during the first 1.5 hours of its sale. He explains that store employees start getting training on the big shopping day three weeks in advance. Every employee has a role, and their days are planned down to the minute. One of Joe's favorite things about being a store manager during Black Friday is seeing how excited customers are. He says one of the least enjoyable parts is seeing how hard his employees have to work during the entire shopping day.
