Well, a former captain was found guilty yesterday for his role in a deadly boat fire off the coast of southern California that left 33 passengers and one crew member dead in 2019. A jury found that Jerry Boylan, captain of the scuba boat called the conception guilty of one kind of misconduct or neglect of ship officer. The charge is also known as seaman's manslaughter. Boylan faces up to 10 years in prison. Prosecutors argued that Boylan failed to post a night watchman, have his crew fight the fire or properly warn the passengers sleeping below the deck. Boylan will be sentenced on February 8.
