Bryce Dallas Howard Talks 'The Mandalorian' & New Holiday Partnership

after fighting dinosaurs in the Jurassic world franchise. And working with Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian, our next guest is now celebrating the holiday season through a new partnership with World B. Yeah, I spoke with actor and director bryce, Dallas howard all about that partnership and some of the recent projects as well. Take a look so bryce, we're so excited that you're here with us. Before we get to your partnership you have with Oral B. I want to talk about your experience working in a galaxy far, far away because you directed an episode of the Book of boba fett that streamed on Disney plus earlier this year and it was considered by a lot of people to be the best episodes of the season. I mean how has it felt to find success behind the camera? Especially in the Star Wars universe? Oh well that's that's a that's a beautiful compliment. Thank you. What I will say is this is very much so Mandalorian boba fett, This is the creation, you know, Baby Yoda of john Fabbro and and before that of course George Lucas and Dave Filoni who is a protege of George Lucas is is so involved in these shows and so you know anything that folks are liking, it's because of them, I'm there to support the process but I I do have to say, you know, it's it's been one of the greatest joys of my professional life, getting to work with that team. Getting to you know, hang out with Baby Yoda all day. It's not, I mean there are worse things to do than hang out with baby Yoda all day. I mean by the way, we should know. You also directed episodes the Mandalorian in both season one and season two. But according to Hollywood Reporter bryce, you're set to direct an episode of The Mandalorian in season three. Can you confirm that? Is that true? Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. And it's amazing. That was a wonderful experience again, you know? And what can you tease about it? What's the episode? Um I can tease nothing. Zero. Yes. Zero. Yes. I know. Yes. Disney is coming for you if that happens. It's the first time that since I've been working with them in in 2018 that it's even been confirmed that I'm directing something right? I'm just gonna consider that a miracle. I'm always so nervous because my dad is terrible. He gives away spoilers all the time. The fact that it was that was announced, I'm relieved because that that's all my dad knew was that I was working on it. I can't tell them anything more than that. That's so funny. It's so funny how now you have to sort of keep these things away from your dad, Let's by the way, talk about your partnership you've got with Oral B as we approach the holidays, you've said Oral B products rank on the top of your gift giving list. So talk about how you're working with the company and why you're such a fan of what they're offering. Well, I care about my health and I care about the health and longevity of my loved ones. And there's no better gift to give than that gift of health and longevity. And honestly, I'm here. It is. I'm obsessed with this toothbrush legit. It gives you feedback. Like it tells you if you're being naughty and not brushing your teeth the right way. And then it also tells you if you're being nice and you are brushing your teeth the right way. I'm giving it to my parents, I'm giving it to my siblings this holiday. So season, it's it's a wonderful way as well to also, you know, when you give a gift every single time someone uses that gift, it's a reminder of your love for them. And so this is something that, you know, folks use twice a day and what better way to tell them that? I love them. Yeah, that's what I was just about to ask you. I mean, were you planning to give an oral b toothbrush to your dad, Hollywood legend Ron howard for the holidays? I mean now like I hope he doesn't watch this. Like that's, that's like the, that's a gift and they're gonna be so excited if they don't see this, if they see this and know what's coming. Well, will air this after the holidays and on the topic of the holidays. Do you guys have any family traditions that you guys do every year? I mean, do you watch the grinch, the film your dad directed, which a lot of people say it's one of the best holiday movies of all time. Oh, that's so fun. That's so fun. Yeah, the grinch is usually because there's a lot of uh, you know, I've got kids, my siblings, a lot of them have kids and so there's a lot of grandkids and the nephews all over the place. And so the grinch is definitely a movie that we tune into over the holidays and, and honestly it's just about spending time with our loved ones getting together. We have a day where we all get together and we decorate cookies. Um, you know, we all make sure to get together on christmas eve and christmas day, we celebrate christmas. Um you know, it's, it's just, it's a, it's a privilege to get to be with family, especially in person. It's something that I don't think any of us take for granted, especially these days, especially over the last couple of years of what we've had, let's talk about the Jurassic world franchise, the final installment, Jurassic Jurassic world, Dominion hit theaters earlier this year. Critics weren't a fan of it, but the audiences loved it because it grossed more than a billion dollars. How do you sort of view your experience of getting to be a part of this incredible franchise? I mean, it was one of those things kind of in your career where it's a coup where you're like, wait, what? This is incredible. Getting to be a part of it. Getting to have the chance. And then the fact that the movies have resonated so deeply with audiences. It was wonderful to get to be a part of Dominion in particular because it was multigenerational, you know, included all of all of them. We called it the legacy characters, the legacy cast, which is Laura Dern of course, Jeff Goldblum sam neill BD Wong. And and hopefully hopefully there's a story that continues and there's new characters that people fall in love with and we get to celebrate that crazy. What if that Michael Crichton created when he imagined, what if human beings and Dinos. I mean, I still have nightmares from as a kid seeing the very first Jurassic park, which was like insane back in the day. And thanks to bryce Dallas howard, she's definitely keeping busy. It was actually just announced. she's set to star in a new Disney plus pilot based on the Witch Mountain film franchise as well. And now we also know her dad is getting a toothbrush for the holidays as well.
