'Bugs Bunny Builders' Series: First Looney Tunes Preschool Show in Over 20 Years

The first looney tunes preschool show in over 20 years is heading to Cartoon Network and HBO max. The new show follows Bugs Lola, daffy porky and tweety as they build projects as the loonie builders construction crew take a look, we're the best, we're gonna dash and splash and I sat down with voice actors, eric Bauza and sean Diddy Parikh who star in bugs bunny builders all the talk about what it means to bring the show back to life for fans, take a look at this Eric. I want to start with you. This is the first looney tunes preschool show in over 20 years. So what does it mean to bring this back to life for fans out there? Well baker, I'm glad you asked that question feels wonderful. Good to be back. Who needs Botox when you have preschool animation, you feeling young? Yeah, it's amazing to see how well these 80 year old characters can adapt to new situations, whether they're in short commercials or feature length films or you know, reboots and re imaginations of, of what they might be in like modern times And here we, here we are back with preschool and I think it's just, it feels super at home and at ease, especially for those die hard fans who are worried that oh no, they're gonna change these characters Warner Brothers always keeps the integrity of the characters there and it's just the world around them. That changes and eric I see exactly why actually I hear why exactly why you are a bugs bunny in this, You sound incredible, john dee dee, you're actually making your looney tunes debut, You're voicing lola bunny. So is there any sort of preparation or inspiration that you have to draw from? Two voices? Really iconic character here? Yeah, you know, I had to watch a lot of cartoons, which which was always fun. So yeah, I did, I did my research, I watched the previous little bunnies. This one, this iteration of her is really interesting because she plays this leadership role right alongside bugs managing this construction crew and it's all the usual suspects we have porky, daffy tweety and a lot of other familiar faces you're gonna see from looney tunes that um yeah, you know that this version of her, you can see her being the same strong, confident bunny that she's always been. So you'll have a lot of familiarity with her character as well, which we love. So eric walk us through what fans can expect from this series, how different would it be from a storyline we trip would know from these characters? Well, it's funny because even when you look back at some of the original shorts, they, they all sometimes had weird jobs, you know, like I've seen shorts where porky and Daffy are police officers. I've seen bugs bunny having to deal with actually a an evil construction guy trying to kick him out of his house. So it's, it's kind of interesting to see again like them as a construction team, uh, you know, pleasing the citizens of Lunenburg. So you'll still see foghorn leghorn in this series, but he's may like may leghorn. Yeah, again, it's again, so many great uh, easter eggs and hidden gems for the entire family, but especially the Looney tunes fans and yeah, again, I have a son, so a six year old son especially and, and getting to see him, you know, watch some of these, uh, these clips that are, you know, advertising the premiere today. Uh, he's into it. He's so into it, especially when it's voiced by you eric, I can only imagine how amazing and proud that makes you feel doing that as well, john d by the way, you're really busy. You're also voicing Harley Quinn in the upcoming bat wheels series that's also aimed at preschoolers as well. I'm curious what sort of makes the script work when it can appeal to both Children and adults. Here's that way. They can both enjoy it. Yeah. You know, I think I'm lucky enough that both of my characters just wanna have fun. So we have that in common and for preschoolers, that's all it's really about, is learning lessons along the way and having a blast while learning. So you'll see that with Harley and you'll definitely be seeing that with Lona Lola and her louis crew and eric, you're doing multiple voices in this. Is there a favorite character that you resonate maybe with more than another? You would think I'm a bugs, but I'm more of a how do you, how do you sort of prepared for each one of those characters? Because they're so different? How are you able to basically do both of them so flawlessly? How much work did that take you to do that? Well, if you check out the, my couch, it's completely dented in a lifetime of couch potato ng I've treated my, my gym membership for a subscription on HBO max and I just watched the classics. I study mel blank. He's he's the man, he was the guy that You know, created these characters who I like to say they're like our oldest relatives, you know, they're tweety is 80 years old And I thought I was only 12.5 um yeah, they did for us. So I'm glad that I get to live these characters and brief these characters. I want to ask you both this question, would you guys hire any of these looney tune characters for your next construction project? Absolutely, absolutely. We we get the job done. All right.
