California Considers New Amendment to Allow Consumers Greater Control Over Personal Data

California's state government wants to increase consumers' data privacy rights, proposing a new amendment Monday that would allow consumers to sue companies that violate the state's new data privacy law. Democratic State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, who proposed the new amendment, joins Cheddar to discuss the purpose of the new proposal.
