Even as more women enter a maturing cannabis industry, the percentage of women in executive roles has tumbled, and when it comes to starting a business, women entrepreneurs — especially women of color — also face outsized barriers to entry such as access to capital.

In spite of these challenges, there are resources for women in the industry, like the professional networking organization Women Grow. Plus, leaders like Etain COO Hillary Peckham, MJBiz SVP Pam Moore, Leafly CEO Yoko Miyashita, and Women Grow President Gia Morón are breaking the glass ceiling and raising other women up with them.
