Governor J.B. Pritzker signed into law the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, making Illinois the 11th state to legalize adult use cannabis. Starting January 1st, 2020, it will officially be legal to buy marijuana in The Land of Lincoln. Cheddar traveled to Illinois and sat down with cannabis industry insiders, lawmakers, and entrepreneurs to see how Illinois' program is shaping up with only months left until January. And while marijuana will be legal in the new year, that doesn't mean you'll be able to purchase marijuana everywhere you go. Some local government are just saying no to recreational weed and banning the sale of cannabis within their municipal boundaries.
