A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel is having a meeting Wednesday to decide who should get the Pfizer booster shot and when they should get it. The Food and Drug Administration decided last week that senior citizens and high-risk Americans can get the Pfizer third dose, but rejected to offer it to the general population. So the role of the CDC advisers today is to decide who belongs in those high-risk groups. Dr. Rob Davidson, ER doctor and executive director of The Committee to Protect Health Care, joined Cheddar's Opening Bell to discuss the CDC meeting, new data from Johnson & Johnson, and prospects for vaccines for young children.
