Celebrities Willing to Pay More to End Strike

Over in Hollywood stars are speaking out. We told you earlier this week about how a list celebrities met with the S A after union to get an update on how negotiations went. Well, it looks like we're getting a little more information on that meeting deadline reports that George Clooney Tyler Perry, Emma Stone, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson and other prominent actors asked the union to remove the $1 million cap on membership dues. This change would have top earners in the industry contribute more to the union which would help S Agata cover health benefits for its members. The hope is that in paying money, they could bridge the gap between what the union wants and what studios are willing to give on a call with deadline. Clooney said that removing the cap would bring in around $50 million to the union annually. He said, quote, these negotiations will be ongoing, but we wanted to show that we're all in this together and find ways to help close the gap on actors getting paid as a reminder, the strike started on July 14th. So we'll see if this is what it takes for it to end
