Cheddar News Unveils First Primetime Cable News Program, None of the Above with J.D. Durkin, Premiering June 7 at 8pm ET

Network Also Announces New Anchor Alicia Nieves 

May 24, 2021 – NEW YORK, NY – Today, Cheddar News announces a new hour-long talk show, None of the Above with J.D. Durkin, airing each weeknight at 8pm ET beginning on Monday, June 7th. None of the Above marks Cheddar News’ first foray into daily primetime programming; the network is currently live weekdays from 7am – 6pm ET and airs original programming blocks, featuring shows like The Lightbulb Moment and Who Knew?, in the overnight and weekend hours. 

Hosted by Cheddar News’ Anchor and Chief Political Reporter J.D. Durkin, None of the Above offers a fresh take on the news of the day, providing an unbiased alternative to the evening lineups offered by cable news networks. Through None of the Above, Durkin, who has been with Cheddar News since 2017 and was previously an editor and columnist for Mediaite, will analyze issues in a fair and constructive manner with a focus on capturing the American cultural zeitgeist. Exploring the intersection of current events, politics, technology, business, science and more, the program will feature interviews with leading newsmakers, long-form and even-handed panel discussions and future-minded innovation all with an optimistic worldview. None of the Above aims to educate viewers on the news events of the day – without becoming cynical.

The network also announces a new talent hire with Alicia Nieves joining Cheddar News as an anchor. Nieves, an Emmy Award winning reporter who has reported for WPIX-TV New York and KTW-TV Philadelphia, among other local news stations, and who most recently served as a national news correspondent for the E.W. Scripps Company, will join senior anchor Kristen Scholer on Closing Bell and anchor Hena Doba on Cheddar’s News Wrap.
