Björgvin Arnarson, one of the young stars of horror-comedy series 'Chucky' on Syfy and USA, teases a little bit of what's ahead for fan-favorite couple Jevon when the show returns for Season 2, how creator Don Mancini and stars like Jennifer Tilly have welcomed him into the 'Child's Play' family, and why one of his personal favorite horror films is Ari Aster's 'Midsommar.'

'Chucky' Star Björgvin Arnarson Discusses Season 2 and What It's Like to Join an Iconic Horror-Comedy Franchise

horror fans get excited, Chucky is back for season two tonight, we have a big star in the house tonight, new york Van Arneson is here to spill all the tea or should I say blood for season two, new york man, thanks so much for joining us this morning. Obviously you can't spoil everything for us, but what maybe, maybe you can tell us what we can expect in season two of Chucky um you know, expect, I don't know, like a lot of craziness, a lot of crazy new new things having in this new scenery that we're gonna experience with all these new characters that I'm looking forward to, all of that. But we also have some little nuances that the fans of the old Chuckie will remember, you got to talk about this cast is full of horror icons from the creator Don Mancini to the stars, jennifer Tilly how have they welcomed the new generation to the show? Um you know, it's cool, you know, it's cool to be able to be like a kind of a new icon for this big franchise and kind of, it's, it's a little nerve racking to be like, I don't know, like, into this new big franchise and I'm just kind of like, you know, I'm excited that I'm able to be here, especially this place is super crazy and they're not know it's going to be here. Well we're well, by the way, we're glad you're here, We're showing old Chucky videos by the way Chuckie's still when I was younger, like gave me nightmares forever, but what's funny about Chucky is it's funny and it's a horror, not very many horror films or shows are like that, what sort of harder to sort of pull off the comedy aspects or the horror aspects I guess probably being funny because it's hard to be funny on camera for me, like for me it doesn't feel funny. So like, you know, I had a little funny things and like people say it's funny. So I was like, okay, I guess I did a good job on that. Yeah, but the scary stuff a little bit easier cause I'm, you know, I'm, I'm good at being scared. Yeah, well not only that you have some spicy scenes this season, your character devin finally reveals his feelings for jake. How has that been received from the L G B T Q horror community? Um, I mean going into it, I was again super nervous. I was, I've never been able to do this kind of big role and be able to kind of like do this character so you know, seeing the, you know, the word I'm looking for, I can't find it, but seeing like, you know, the support comments and stuff about like the character and how they appreciate it and how people have been seen and visibility is really important. The visibility is something that's really sort of cool for something like this. Yeah, so I think it, you know, I, I guess I did a good job and I'm, you know, excited to do that and do it again for season two. So any insights to where that relationship is going. Um, I guess I could say that the new setting, the new catholic school setting kind of, you know, make some differences in the relationship kind of a, you know, makes a little bit dramatic. Okay, so you're, by the way, I mean this isn't a breaking news, you're a teenager. I mean the first Chucky Child's play came out in 1988. I mean, I was, I was basically still in diapers when it was coming out because I like to lower my edge on that one. Did you ever watch the original Chuckie movies? Have you ever seen them before? So I haven't seen them when I, before I booked it? Yeah, no, it's fine. It's fine, it's fine. But I did watch all them after I booked it and I was like, you know, you know, this is what they're fun movies. Yeah, so that was those were your thoughts. You weren't like, oh my God, I can't believe that there's this doll that is doing this. I mean he's scary, but I think after you watch all of them, he kind of just comes like a fun guy, like I want to be his friend. Okay, okay, Chucky Chucky's a complex character. So would you have one of those Chucky dolls at your house? I would, I don't have one yet because my mom doesn't want one in the house. I, your mom is in the studio with us. I don't blame her. Yes. Yes. But yeah, I want in my house so Okay, well we are in spooky season so we gotta know besides chunky. What's your favorite horror movie? Probably right now. I would say like Midsummer or like Lighthouse. That's a terrifying movie by the way. That is such a mess of terrifying movie. I like that movie. A lot big fan. What is it about it that you like so much? I think because it happens in the daytime. Yeah, which is different. Yeah, I like it so scary in the daytime. It's kind of unique to be able to do that. Okay, what about a favorite costume, favorite Halloween costume, you've dressed up in the past? I I did a I was a bat once and then used like an umbrella to become the wings. Remember doing that. That sounds awesome. Very creative. So you get into it. Yes, but you get a bit into it. I love that new york is such a pleasure to meet you, Congratulations on all the success.
