The intensity of record-breaking heat waves and flooding events in various parts of the world is being attributed to climate change. Stephen Bennett, chairman of the American Meteorological Society’s Financial Weather/Climate Risk Management Committee, joined Cheddar to talk about recent patterns of extreme weather being linked to shifts in climate. "Like the heat wave we saw in the Pacific Northwest a few weeks ago, there's good science to suggest those types of events are becoming more common based on an overall warming climate," he noted.
