Content Creator Ben De Almeida Talks About the Prep and Success of His Videos

my favorite thing to do right now is guess people's passwords of their social media accounts because I've actually managed to successfully hack a few accounts and I also enjoy changing some captions around without people noticing and tagging myself so people think me and Sunday are besties. So today I managed to log into Sean Mendez account and then I decided to DMS some peoples and pick up lines like Olivia Rodrigo, which might have made me responsible for him and Camila kabu breaking up Anyway, Welcome back to trending, you know, our guests as ben of the week on social media, like we mentioned, he's amassed over 11 million followers just on Tiktok alone. It's content creator Ben. Yes. Okay, so Ben, that video was so funny. You actually went viral on Tiktok with a video that showed your resemblance to actor Noah sent, sent in a oh yeah, yeah, I kind of do a little bit as well. This by the way was all the way back in 2019 when you posted it. What has it been like to sort of amassed this huge follow so quickly. I mean it's been crazy like there's like little moments that kind of blow your account up a little more and more and more. It started with a no centenario thing and then just videos here and there. Um, but it's been crazy, it's been so fun to have like a platform to just be creative on and you are creative, you're so funny in november, you actually spent time in Korea Japan now, you're back working on your podcast, drama mama, what can you tease for your new episodes. I mean whatever, whatever happens drama worthy but I mean what is that? You have to give us a tease. Like what sort of topics when you talk about, you talk about your trip for example, maybe I do want to do a big episode on like traveling because I was gone for a while, it was about like a month on the road and filming a bunch of stuff here and there so that would be a future episode but I just did one on Doja Cat and people having their comments and opinions on her appearance um I think that looks good. What did you think of that whole situation with her twitter and how her handle kept getting didn't see that she like changed into like fart by accident, I got locked and then it stayed that way for like a long period of time, she's so funny and so she's a comedian. So you recently were nominated for breakout creator award at this year's stream is obviously a huge accomplishment for any content creator. So how does it feel sort of get validation in this space with this nomination? Not just the followers, but you're now getting validation from reputable organizations. I mean like I was in the running with like some like amazing creators that I just feel honored to be in the same list of like there's like Ryan Trahan who crossed America with a penny and like documented it like daily, like every single day for a month. So it was just so cool to be like amongst all these creators that I look up to and like have grown up watching, you know, this better than we do with a huge following comes huge responsibility. You're actually an advocate for gen Z for change organization. How are using your voice and your platform to enact real change? I mean, I think it's just important to like focus on the issues that are important to you. Like with everything you do, whether it be climate or um, any kind of issues that affect like gen z people like me. Okay, okay, so let's go back to your Tiktok obviously over 11 million followers, which is huge, but a lot of your stuff is completely off the cuff. Obviously we know there's a lot more thought that goes into them. So how much prep work do you put in when you're making a lot of these videos or are you just saying, all right, I'm just gonna go Starbucks and we'll see what happens. Yeah, Sometimes there's a little bit of prep and sometimes I just like go for it. Like I might be at a concert where I get a funny idea and then I just kind of roll with it and like think what kind of crazy like satire can I make out of? Not a lot of prep goes into it. Sometimes some do, some don't. And have you found that your most popular videos have anything in common. Is there a theme that you're seeing through a lot of them. It's kind of having like controlled chaos I guess. You could say. Yeah. And you're such a young content creator, you've gained so much attention in such a short period of time. Is there any pressure to stay relevant or make sure your content is relevant and people will like it, Your fans will like it. Yeah. I feel like that's like a pressure that a lot of my friends who are also content creators like feel um I guess what's important is just knowing like as long as like you're making stuff that's like still entertaining and like still a value to people. Like it's always gonna like find an audience. Okay. So we just saw that one post about you and celebs how you were able to hack into all of their accounts. If you could do a tiktok with one celebrity, who would it be? I mean, I was gonna say the queen, but I guess she's with us. What India would you want to do? Like Elizabeth? Noah centenario. He could be interesting. We could do a little twin moment. I was gonna say if everybody thought you looked just like him, maybe that should be the Tiktok that you do? There's so many people who want to get into social media, any advice for them just create don't, don't look at what other people are creating unless you like getting genuine inspiration from it because it's so easy to see other people's content and think like, oh, I need to like, we'll make exactly this to get a following. But it's really like what you bring to the table, that's different. That can get you an audience. All right, So you're in, you're doing content creation, you're doing a podcast. Where are we seeing you in the next five years? What's gonna be happening next? I'm not sure. I mean, I don't have a crystal ball, but I'd like to get to acting. Um not because I cannot sing or anything like that, but any kind of movies you could be Noah centenario. You on tv. I see you on the big screen. I really do anything you want. You gravitate towards. As far as movies as an action comedy. I'd love to be in like a comedy. Maybe even with Adam Sandler. Yes, that's where we gotta go. This is your audition tape.
