Court is Back in Session: 'All Rise' Season 3 Premiering June 7th

and court is back in session people. The courtroom drama all rise is returning for a brand new season and has a new home on own. The Oprah Winfrey Network. Take a look. Hey girl Michael. It's like old times. Welcome back to the H. O. J. The lola coaster rides again. This is huge. Congratulations. I will not have my courtroom turned into a circuit rough day. Huh? Babe Cheddar news, Shannon Lanier spoke to the stars of the series. Actor Wilson Bethel and executive producer Simon Simona music on what to expect in the third season diversity on, on and off the screen and so much more take a listen. It was so exciting. It felt like, uh, it felt like it was meant to be in a lot of ways. You know, own has always been a network that told strong stories. Strong female centered stories and especially ones with black women as the lead and so to be able to bring all rise to their audience and to know that they were excited about us, that they, we're passionate about telling these stories that you know, we've loved sharing with our audience and our fans. It was, it was a gift. It has been a gift and they are certainly as excited about our show as we are and our fans, those people who texted and tweeted and wrote letters, you know, to know that we had that kind of impact and that they had that kind of impact in order to help bring this show to a new network. It just feels like you're really doing some some great work. The season of the season finale for season two was filmed right at the start of Covid. So, tell us about the experience and filming the finale. I mean in quarantine and in this new environment, this new world that most people were just getting to know, it was definitely different. So this season, you know, we are all working in an under different circumstances in terms of, you know, a lot of us were all vaccinated and we test as frequently as we did in the last season. And so um this season, it feels a lot like the first season, you know, where we kind of don't feel as as confined and it's terrified. Um as I think a lot of us in this in the world have been feeling. Um, and so those, those feelings of freedom, I think we have going into this third season, I think our fans are going to feel that same sense of like shackles off and excitement and and leaning into the fund that we had in the first two seasons on this show. And you know, to be able to film during Quarantine was amazing. We were the first scripted show um to air a quarantine episode of a drama, an hour long drama. And so, you know, I felt like we were telling a story that was important at the time and that's what we're continuing to try to do on our show. This third season. Yeah, you can definitely tell you guys feel a little bit more free in season three and you can see that in the characters, the storyline and it's a little bit about new beginnings. Even one of the things that we're following, So Wilson, where do things pick up in season three? What can we expect? Give us the t Yeah. Uh so for Simone's character Miss Lola Carmichael, she's a pretty dramatic crossroads, potentially in in danger of losing her judgeship to a challenge a challenger. Um from my character, Mark Callan, his new beginning is trying to set off on a new life with his lovely lady Miss Amy Quinn after having proposed to her at the end of season two and now trying to move into the wedding zone, but there are impediments on that journey. You guys definitely have to check this out. But, c'mon, I gotta ask you, Oprah said that the show is the epitome of what diversity and inclusion means. So what do you think she meant by that? And what does that meant mean to you? That she would say that about your show and its impact on the world? Really, I think that um our show, both in front and behind the camera is very inclusive. It's very diverse. Not just the racial and cultural background, but the experiences of our cast and our crew is so varied. Um you know, Wilson said the other day that you can walk on set and hear people speaking different languages. I think that our show in front of the camera looks like what this country looks like. Um, and we're not trying to push any kind of specific agenda or narrative about a certain segment of society to be able to work with directors, women, directors, uh, and, and men from all kinds of walks of life has been such a gift.
