Joshua Goldbard, the founder and CEO of cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin, joined Cheddar to discuss the company's recent Series B fundraise of $66 million and the growing need for privacy in online payment processing. "We've seen just really incredible demand for MobileCoin. We've seen over a million transactions on the network since we turned it on," Goldbard said. MobileCoin is a cryptocurrency managed by a decentralized foundation, and the company makes money by facilitating people's use of the ecosystem, according to the CEO, who stressed that all payments are strictly between the parties involved with privacy completely preserved.
