I have your latest florida man headline and this time it's florida governor Ron DeSantis. He's never shied away from conflict in this latest instance. No exception to santos on thursday suspended. Andrew Warren, someone you've definitely never heard of. He's a democrat serving as the elected state attorney in Hillsborough County, which contains the city of Tampa in an executive order announcing the decision to santa's accused war of neglect of duty and incompetence. De Santis lashed out at warren after Warren said he would not use his office to go after doctors who provide gender affirming care to transgender people or after people who seek abortions or their doctors de Santis said at a press conference, quote to take a position that you have veto powers over the laws of the state is untenable. This is just the latest example of conflict between state and local officials over controversial policies on hot issues like abortion and gender affirming care in red states. One of the only options democrats have is to refuse at the local level to prosecute any related crimes. It's a strategy that can work. But the Santis proved thursday that even that option has a lot of limits and meanwhile, Megan Senate Senate democrats are a step closer to passing the inflation reduction act. What's the latest on that on capitol Hill? It's actually really quiet here today and that is because they are a step closer. Arizona senator Kirsten cinema came out last night and said she supports the bill after forcing a small ish change to the legislation. She was opposed to a section of the bill that would have closed what's called the carried interest loophole basically that allows hedge fund managers and other Wall Street type to pay lower income taxes than the rest of us do. Senator Schumer and Mansion wanted to close it understandably, but cinema, she didn't like that.
