Jon Niermann, CEO and co-founder of free streaming platform Loop Media Inc., joined Cheddar News to discuss the rise of the digital out-of-home sector and how ad spending is slowly shifting toward that market.

Digital Out-of-Home Market on the Rise

and as we continue to emerge from the pandemic, consumers are increasingly flocking back to brick and mortar businesses to do their everyday shopping and activities and this increases the need for digital out of home entertainment, also known as D. 00. H. A. Market that could reach about $60 billion in this next decade. Among the top players in the spaces loop media streaming platform that provides curated music, video and branded entertainment channels for business is completely free of charge. And joining me now is Jon Niermann, the Ceo and co founder of media john thanks so much for coming on the show. So I see the third quarter earnings season wrapping up and we've seen big technology companies certainly see some losses because of a pullback in ad spending dollars. Any bright spot for these brands and advertisers here when it comes to the D. 00. H market. Well, I think Kristin, it is the bright spot. You know, if you, as you hear all this kind of doom and gloom about advertising, it's, there's an evolution advertising, you start kind of with a web search going to social, those areas are suffering but once you start getting into connected tv in this new bright spot of digital out of home, we're in a pretty good place. Media mix is shifting towards that. It's a great audience for them to reach. So yeah, we're pretty happy about where we are. What is your projection john in terms of where these ad dollars go um in the future, how they get spread across many different channels these days. Uh more than half of it goes, I think the last that I saw was about 55% goes to digital. So you've already moved from that traditional form of linear TV and outdoor and all those things that I used to hear about a lot, but people are on digital and that's where the money's going. But as the pandemic goes away and people are emerging, they're ready to get out and they want to go out and they want to be entertained. There's no better way than to have great curated content with custom messages for top brands and be able to reach that captive consumers. So I think you're gonna see a big shift continued towards connected tv. And that means things like consumer, like Roku or amazon fire stick, but also digital out of home, which is smack dab right where we are. Right. So let's talk more about the space that you occupy, john as the Ceo co founder of Loop Media. What kind of content can people view on your platform and what is the distribution mechanism? So we lead with music videos were the largest provider of music videos across the country. We've got over 100 music video channels. Anything you can think of any sort of playlist you want, I'm sure you can find it. Uh, and we also have about 65 non music video channels, things like the Tiktok channel, you know, which is on our platform as their only out of home presence. We've got Disney, we've got wiggles, we've got GoPro in terms of action sports. We have great drone footage. You can customize it to the extent where if you're an italian restaurant and you want nothing but drone footage from Italy and playing Sinatra or italian music all night and all day. You could do that pretty amazing. And a lot of catchy videos too. There was easy to watch john as we were playing those obviously of course this is a market that's very important to you. And so the evolution of this given the current environment, how do you see taking your company to the next level? I think we've only just begun, if you look at the tens of millions of businesses that are out there, you small, medium businesses, you know, most of them think about where consumers were 10 years ago, you had cable and satellite and then you started hearing about companies like hulu and peacock etc. Now that's where businesses are there really transitioning from an opportunity of cable and satellite to a company like loop, which is providing it because those other providers of content that you stream at home, they do tv series and movies, I don't think anybody's gonna go to a tv or go to a bar and watch judge judy and by the way, if they have that on run out of that bar right in the way. I'm just curious, you know, it's interesting we're doing this show from the floor of the stock exchange, I know that your company was listed Loop Media on the OtC markets, but recently uplifted to the new york stock exchange, what do our viewers need to know about that? We did that, Yeah, september 22nd right there behind you. It was very exciting. So we, we liken it to the minor leagues and on the otc, we spent a couple of years sharpening our teeth, getting the reporting, the auditing et cetera ready for the big leagues in the N. Y. S. C. Were the only publicly traded company in this space out of home streaming. So we're very excited about that opportunity for investors or anyone in our shareholders. And, you know, we were excited again where we're going in terms of the growth ahead of us in this space in general. What is the line in the sand, john, just quickly before I have to let you go where we start to see a turnaround. Those advertising dollars come back of course, which is so important to many media companies. Well, I think you're going to, again, it depends on the sector where they are, but I think you'll start for us digital out of home is strong connected. Tv is strong. I think for a lot of the other social, it's gonna be a bit longer, You know, they're gonna go into deep in the next year, middle of next year and I think as a result of that, as brands look to diversify and find something that's a little more relevant connected where the audience are today, digital out of home is going to be a bright spot where they're going to be to put their dollars.
