Electronic Gaming Federation today announced a national interscholastic high school esports championship to take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex located at the Walt Disney World Resort in June of 2020. EGF, founded in 2013, currently runs leagues for both collegiate and high school esports throughout the country. the ESPN Wide World of Sports is also familiar with high school sports competition - it currently plays annual host to the Jr. NBA Global Championships as well as the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships. High school esports teams will have a chance to qualify for the national championship through a series of regional qualifying events in all 2019 and spring 2020, with additional information on scheduling and games to come in the following weeks.
