Maven is a digital healthcare platform for women and children. The start-up gives female patients easy access to women's health practitioners, therapists, nutritionists, midwives, and more, all via its digital services. CEO Kate Ryder joins Cheddar to explain how the company is putting control back in the hands of women, who make about 80% of healthcare decisions. About 43% of women drop out of the workforce after having a baby. Maven is helping retain women business leaders through Maven Maternity, a fertility, maternity, and postpartum benefits program. Ryder also explains how she made the transition from journalist to CEO. She says she took a lesson learned from her journalism career, and built a network of advisers when she started Maven.
