The race for the White House for 2024 under way. And Tara Rosenbloom got the chance to sit down with Robert Kennedy Junior who announced his campaign for the Democratic nomination back in April. That's right. Robert F. Kennedy Jr in town for just one day. And he invited us here to lower Manhattan to essentially pick his brain for a full hour on all things, politics and personal. So we went on to ask him about everything from COVID-19, the war in Ukraine to even his late uncle and father, the late US senator from here in New York. Robert F. Kennedy who was so tragically assassinated 55 years ago in this exact spot in his life for the White House on the Democratic line. Now, while Kennedy himself in recent years has stirred up controversy for his views on things like vaccine efficacy. All recent polling suggests that his voice is simply not one that can be ignored. Today. Here in lower Manhattan, the environmental attorney portraying himself as a truth teller who is intent on ending the dysfunction and divide crippling our nation. If you do polls both with Democrats and Republicans around 75% 80% of Americans think we're moving in a bad direction. You have become the poster child for the anti vac sentiments that are out there. What would you have done differently if you were the president when the pandemic began? I would have, first of all, I would have never locked down our country. All of the pandemic protocol, pandemic prepared medicine response protocols, I W H O by CDC by um the European Medical Agency, by the National Health System. Uh the services in the UK, all of them said you never locked down a society. You, you quarantine the sick, you protect the vulnerable but you keep the society going. So if you are elected president, would you relax the educational requirements for the most rudimentary vaccines like measles, polio, smallpox? What I would do is to immediately do controlled uh uh trials. First of all, nobody take smallpox vaccines um anymore. And you know, any smallpox no longer exists except in our bio weapons labs. And I would get rid of those cultures. You would not have mandatory vaccines. I would, I think parents need to have a choice. Great interview. Thanks to Tara Rosenblum for that report.
