Space company Planet is on a mission to image the entire world. With 200 satellites in orbit, it can take 300 million square km of imagery every single day. Will Marshall, CEO of Planet, joins Cheddar to explain how this radical new data set has endless possibilities. Planet is being used for agriculture research and post-natural disaster surveillance. The constant imaging of Earth's surface has helped to create a map of things like mountains, pre- and post-sand slide,s and the campus around Apple's new headquarters before and after construction was done. Planet believes global imagery will help empower informed, deliberate and meaningful stewardship of our planet. Planet partners with other private space businesses to get their satellites to space. Launch providers all vie for Planet's business, but Will Marshall did say he was currently bullish on Space X.
