'El Chapo's' Son Pleads Not Guilty to Charges

The son of drug cartel leader El Chapo Guzman pleaded not guilty yesterday in a Chicago courtroom to drug trafficking money laundering and other charges. Obo Guzman Lopez and his brothers known as the were indicted earlier this year for allegedly steering the cartel into synthetic drugs like methamphetamine and fentaNYL. Guzman Lopez was extradited from Mexico to the US on Friday and his January arrest in the State of Sinaloa Mexico set off violence that left 30 people dead including 10 military personnel. Some of the charges against Guzman Lopez carry maximum life sentences. His next court appearance is set for November 17.
