CareOps Automation startup Eleos Health recently raised a $20 million Series A round co-led by F-Prime Capital and Eight Roads Ventures. Eleos uses voice A.I. technology that quietly operates in the background of a therapy session and analyzes conversations between the therapist and patient, and then generates feedback about each session for therapists to use. The startup says the process aims to free clinicians from operational burdens to let them focus more on care. Shiri Sharvit, Chief Clinical Officer of Eleos Health, joins Cheddar News' Closing Bell to discuss.

And the company says the process aims to free clinicians from operational burdens and let them focus more on actual care. So joining me now is the chief clinical officer of Helios health shira, Sheary Charvet as sherry. Thanks so much for coming on the show. I may of course. Thanks for having me. We're so happy to have. You may is mental health awareness month. And when it comes to mental health care there is a focus on the U. S. But certainly we know that there is a shortage of therapist. How does your company come in and aim to help that scenario? Okay, so uh we know that many individuals in fact close to 50% of the population will um suffer from one of the mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, trauma, um substance use etcetera. And unfortunately while numbers uh increase an increase of referrals and people seeking treatment while they're experiencing the trauma caused by the covid pandemic. At the same time, clinicians feel overburdened. They cut their hours, they move from public clinics and community based clinics to uh more private practices and then fewer people are able to see a growing or unable to see a growing number of individuals seeking help. We're trying to help the clinicians by making their life easier and helping them focus on therapy, not on the administrative burden and the cognitive load that they're experiencing in treatment Sherry, what's the safety of this? I think for some patients, they may not feel comfortable having their actual therapy session recorded. What do you tell those patients to make them feel more at ease? That's a great question. Um actually, we have almost 100% agreement uh from clients to uh have some of the data captured by Elias. And we're proactively speaking data with measurement based care and they're collaborating and helping us to analyze what's happening in this session. Of course the treatment is a very private event. I'm a practice inclination myself as a clinical psychologist in my training and uh what happens in it is private uh but also a black box and us as clinicians and I can speak in first person plural. We do not connect enough data. We don't have objective measures of how the clients are doing. This is in contrast with other health um professions and that's why we really want to help in this area. We tell the clients that this is their opportunity to really help the community, help their therapist becomes become better and with the effect trickling down to their neighbors and their community. Another question that I have doctor is your based in tel Aviv but I'm sure that this technology that you're providing can be used for all sorts of therapists across the world. Is that the case? Yeah, this is correct. So we have offices in tel Aviv and in boston, uh, and we're already deployed in uh, dozens of centers across the United States community, uh, mental health clinics and private practices with hundreds of clinicians using our services and serving thousands of clients every day.
