Elon Musk cited data about the number of spambots on Twitter as he tweeted he was putting a hold on his purchase of the platform. This comes as two major executives at the social media company step down and a hiring freeze is placed in effect.

Morning, Twitter's future with Elon Musk now seems uncertain must tweeting out that his deal to buy the social media platform has been put on hold and that's apparently due to a report about spam accounts. Since that announcement, Twitter stock has dropped more than 24% in the free market. In other twitter news, though, Twitter is holding hiring and parting ways with two of its senior leaders, a spokesperson says Twitter is pausing most hiring and back bills, except for what it calls business critical roles. They said the company would be pulling back on other non labor costs. Meanwhile, the general manager of consumer and revenue product leads have announced their departures as well.
