Neuralink, Elon Musk's brain implant venture, is reaching out to major U.S. neurosurgery centers to potentially begin testing its devices on humans, according to a Reuters report. Before that can happen though, the U.S. government needs to grant the company approval, which is far from certain. In 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration rejected its application to proceed with human trials due to safety concerns. Neuralink has been working to address those concerns ever since.
A study by the Netherlands Institute of Neuroscience found that the human brain appears to understand what it sees differently depending on what it expects.
