On the 15th of each month, the IRS will issue $300 payments for parents with children under the age of 6 years old. If the child is between the ages of 6-17, parents can expect a payment of $250. In order to qualify single filers and joint filers would need to earn less than $150,000. Experts believe this program could impact the number of children in poverty in the U.S. Managing Director of US Equity and Economic Opportunity Initiative at the Rockefeller Foundation, Danielle Goonan, joined Cheddar to discuss more and how President Joe Biden hopes to expand the program way past December.
