The US Environmental Protection Agency has proposed banning a cancer causing chemical that can be found in products including car break cleaners, laundry spot removers, even some arts and craft sprays, the chemical is known as trichloroethylene and can cause kidney cancer, neurological damage, even death if exposed to high levels. The proposed bill led by Massachusetts, Senator Edward Markey would impose regulations on chemicals like T ce and asbestos which have been known to cause cancer for decades but have remained unregulated under federal law. As much as £250 million of T CE are produced in the United States every year. If passed this law would go into effect next year.
