The European Union has halted all nonessential travel to the United States as the nation struggles with surging COVID-19 cases. Dr. Tom McGinn, executive vice president at Physician Enterprise at Commonspirit Health, joined Cheddar to discuss the implications of Americans traveling abroad amid the pandemic and whether or not it is safe to do so. "If you don’t have to travel, it’s probably best you don’t at this time. You can travel if you are smart about your mask-wearing, if you’re vaccinated, but I think if you don’t really have to travel, it’s probably best you avoid it," he said. McGinn also recommended upgrading face masks before boarding a plane.
